RFID Journal LIVE! LatAm 2010 Report

At RFID Journal's inaugural conference and exhibition in Latin America, 250 industry professionals gathered to learn from organizations using RFID to improve their operations. View the presentations from the event's speakers.

Sept. 20, 2010—RFID Journal has been hosting its annual RFID Journal LIVE! event in the United States since 2003. Over the past eight years, additional LIVE! conferences have been added to the lineup, including events hosted in the Middle East and Europe. This year, a fourth LIVE! venue, designed for the Latin American region, made its debut to a strong turnout, with approximately 250 professionals in attendance.

Back in 2007, following a trip to Mexico, RFID Journal's founder and editor, Mark Roberti, wrote that it was "clear there's a lot more going on in Latin America than people might realize," adding, "By getting out in front and adopting RFID, Latin American firms can steal a march on companies in other regions moving more slowly" (see RFID Heats Up in Latin America). At RFID Journal LIVE! LatAm 2010, held on Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 in Bogotá, Colombia, attendees learned how businesses across all industries in the Latin American region are now deploying RFID technologies to track assets, manage inventories, improve customer service and more.

The event, produced in partnership with supply chain services firm LOGyCA, showcased end users presenting educational case studies, and also offered attendees the opportunity to become certified RFID Supply Chain Managers, thanks to a partnership with the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).

The conference's speaker presentations, offered both in English and in Spanish, highlighted how companies are employing the technology, and where they are achieving real benefits. Recordings from some of the presentations are now posted in RFID Journal's online video library, and PDFs of the slides used are also available. Not all of the speakers have granted permission to have their presentations archived, however; as more presentations become available, they will be added below.
