The RFID Journal—AAFA Apparel & Footwear Summit was the first RFID conference and exhibition designed specifically to address the needs of companies in this important sector. The event featured case studies presented by companies from around the world, as well as a technology exhibit with solutions for the apparel and footwear industry.

More than 200 professionals attended the conference, including retailers, distributors, manufacturers, consulting firms, systems integrators and RFID vendors. In addition, more than a dozen exhibitors displayed their technologies and services.
The event opened with an invitation-only leadership forum presented by Avery Dennison, who provided an in-depth discussion of the impact of RFID on the apparel and footwear industry. This was followed by an open discussion session in which attendees considered the potential benefits to using RFID and the obstacles to adoption.
