Metro, the Germany retailer, had a massive display at the CeBIT fair in Hanover Germany. Here are some photographs of the various RFID concepts it showed off.
I visited CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, and was blown away by the size and scope of the Metro exhibit. Since words couldn’t possibly convey how large and elaborate the 2,800-square-meter (30,000-square-feet) exhibit was, I took some photos, which I thought I would share with RFID Journal readers. Most of the concepts displayed were not new to those of us in the RFID industry, but at CeBIT, there was a great deal of interest from consumers and businesspeople alike.

This area was called the Future Mall.

A Metro employee explains the concept behind the smart washing machine.
Meanwhile, another shows off a smart microwave oven.
And another shows off a smart refrigerator.
Consumers visit the Metro display in a steady stream.
