Certification Training at RFID Journal LIVE!
RFID Journal has partnered with RFID4U to offer CompTIA RFID+ certification training during RFID Journal LIVE!, the world’s preeminent RFID event.
Feb. 8, 2006—RFID Journal announced today that it has partnered with RFID4U to offer CompTIA RFID+ certification training during RFID Journal LIVE!. The conference will be held May 1 to May 3 in Las Vegas.
This fast-track course, scheduled for the first day of the show (May 1), provides one day of intensive, instructor-led training using state-of-the-art RFID equipment. Attendees who complete the course can then take the RFID+ certification exam on either May 2 or 3, or they can opt for a voucher allowing them to take it at a later date.
Developed by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), this vendor-neutral professional certification validates a professional’s knowledge and skills in the areas of installation, maintenance, repair and upkeep of RFID systems.
CompTIA closed the RFID+ beta exam at the end of December. It is evaluating the results of that exam and plans to have a finalized test by March.
“RFID4U’s fast-track training will provide RFID Journal LIVE! attendees with result-oriented, customized training,” says RFID4U CEO Sanjiv Dua. “We guarantee that those attending the course will obtain their RFID+ certification.”
To that end, an attendee who finishes the RFID4U preparation training without passing the certification exam can attend a future course within a period of one year, at no additional cost. However, those who don’t pass still have to pay exam fees in accordance with CompTIA retake policy.
The courses are aimed at RFID professionals interested in enhancing their career with certification; recent hires charged with installing, configuring and maintaining RFID hardware and device software; and personnel required to perform site surveys, site analysis or tag selection, placement and testing.
Since the fast-track course covers in one day what is often taught in three or four, it is vital that participants possess a prior understanding of radio frequency fundamentals, various types of tags and interrogators (readers), RFID standards and the current state of the RFID market.
